Achral Necrosis

ACHRAL NECROSIS is an underground black metal band born in the desolate mountains of Southern Colorado….Founded by Lord Azmodai (guitars, vocals), Achral Necrosis formed after the disintegration of his previous death/thrash metal project, Decayed Corpse . The band played mostly covers (i.e. Slayer, Sepultura, Cannibal Corpse), but they had a few original songs towards the end of their existence. The band played one real gig (and countless jamming/recording sessions) but then finally after two years, they dissolved…

Azmodai, being totally inspired and influenced by Norwegian Black Metal (such as Mayhem, Immortal, Emperor, and Dimmu Borgir) had now begun to forge a different sound from his previous work. All new original material was beginning to form in the black metal vein. A new project was born.

……..In the Autumn of 2006, the project became an actual band when long time friend and fellow black metal addict, Ztalin joined the fold as the drummer.. In the next few months, some songs were written and recorded. The recording now known as the “Black Death Demo”, was then recorded/mixed by Lord Azmodai between the months of December 06 and Febuary 07……Along with the shrieking vocals, heavy guitar and drum tracks…there are also some atmospheric clean guitar passages and keyboard parts (the band had a keyboardist for a few months). 6 songs were contained on the recording…….Some of this demo was at one time posted on Myspace, but due to complications, the page was apparently deleted. Copies are available through the band, who can be contacted through this site. The members feel as though the demo now seems a bit irrelevant as a current musical representation of the band, therefore the demo will not be posted again.

2007 was an insane year for the band…Line-up changes would also commence during this time which would see the band go on as a trio without the use of keyboards. And there was a bass player (Binsk) added to complete the rhythm section..

A couple more live shows were played…..the most recent was on July 28, 2007 at the Hippie Days festival. Several new songs (a whole album’s worth, actually)have been written since the first demo which show a definite evolution of the band…the newer music is notably faster, heavier and darker than ever.

More line-up changes would take place again. (Binsk, the bassist, would leave the band) This departure would see that the band would remain as a duo for the tracking of “THE DESCENT OF MADNESS” with Azmodai also tracking the bass parts in addition to the vocals and guitars..

The band has now completed their second demo entitled “THE DESCENT OF MADNESS”…The demo was recorded in the depressingly frigid month of December, 2007…The recording is half “live” session/half overdub…(The drums and guitar were recorded in a live session on Dec. 4th at the rehearsal area/home of the band rather than in a studio, and the vocals and bass were recorded a week later at the home of the engineer)

The beginning of the year would see the band add a bassist once again in the form of The Marquis de Naberius…who has become a full member.. The band has played a few shows since and has more lined up… several new songs have been written and the recording of the first full length album shall commence this fall..
