Suburban Hostage

…..And on the eighth day, there was Suburban Hostage; created not by a higher power, but by two Peruvian brothers. Fed up with the current state of popular music, Ruben and Felipe set out to bring their idea of unique punk rock to the masses. Having moved to Denver, CO, the Brothers Punk met with T.J. and enlisted his guitar prowess to form the initial line-up of Suburban Hostage. They played with many different musicians over the years in an attempt to create the sound that they heard in their heads, but things never seemed to come together. Then, in a streak of good luck, they were able to find the two missing pieces of the puzzle. Bret was brought on board to fill-out the low end with his mighty axe and Ross explosive vocals and presence brought a new meaning to the message. Intertwining their influences of West Coast melodic punk and East Coast hardcore, Suburban Hostage has created their own unique blend of punk rock. This quintet has, in a short time, captured and held the attention of fans throughout. Said by B.A. Franklin of Colorado Music Buzz to “set new standards for the Denver punk scene”, Suburban Hostage’s debut album, “A Sorry State”, which was released in November 2006, is a sonic thunderclap of raw energy. Mixed and mastered at the Blasting Room Studios by Andrew Berlin, this record is full of blazing guitars, a mean rhythm section and explosive, thought-provoking vocals. Suburban Hostage has crafted an eye-opening 13 track manifesto that is a breath of fresh air for fans looking to steer clear of mass-produced punk. Playing live as often as possible, Suburban Hostage continues to break the confines of what is considered to be punk rock and will be coming to a Suburbia near you!
