The Chalet

The Chalet
The Chalet is a 5 piece band hailing from the Denver CO. Formed in August of 2006 by former members of short-lived punk band “Zany” guitarist Pip and drummer Brian got together with guitarist Enrique to formed “FireForScareCrow”. Eventually they found a new vocalist in Jordan (As Ruins Falls) and changed their name to The Chalet. As the 4 band members began sledging through all the normal problems of a band start-up, the biggest obstacle was finding the last and final member. After a few bassists had came and gone they eventually found Billy (Jim Starr, Perfection is a Myth) to be their permanent bassist.
Their music can be described as a mix of hardcore, progressive and metal. Similar bands that come to mind would be “Misery Signals”, “Shai Hulud”, and “From a Second Story Window”. One thing is for sure for the boys of The Chalet would rather not worry about what genre theyre put in but would prefer to focus more on composing a story with each song they write.
The band recently released their first E.P. titled “The Distance Covered” with Absinthe Audio. It packs 6 unique and intricately composed songs ranging from heavy break downs, complex leads, and melodic rhythms. Each one bares a different feel and depth but retains the essence that is The Chalet. Fused by frantic changes and lack of repetition in their songs along with vocals that range from low metal growls and high screams “The Distance Covered” will appeal to any fan.
