Translucent Surrender

With a diverse range of metal sounds ranging from "tear your head off " thrash, “lighter raising” power ballads to complex structures and odd meter time signatures, “Translucent Existence” appeals to just about every metal fan out there!. Hailing from Denver CO, Translucent was founded by guitarist Robert Sanchez and Dave Stluka in 2002 when a mutual friend introduced the two to each other. They began to collaborate immediately and started to write songs that feature 7 string guitars and 5 string basses. Upon finding a drummer 2 years later (Butch DeFelice), the band continued to write and record even thought they didn’t have a vocalist. Butch left the band in 2006 after the frustration of not having a vocalist finally took it’s toll. In the summer of 2007, Translucent landed drummer Damon Nichols from “Colombian Neck Tie” and the band took off like a bat out of hell!! In the late fall of 2007, the paths of Translucent and Robb Steele (of Byfist, Bittur Harvest) crossed paths. Robb brought extensive tour and recording expierence with him, and added the final missing link in the band. The rest will be history.The sweeping melodies of Steeles vocals and the heavy melodies of Roberts and Dave’s guitars, prove to catch the attention of music enthusiasts while the chorus lines will keep you singing well after you leave the show. Translucent is currently in the studio recording and producing the material that has been written over the past couple years, look for them opening up for national acts and coming to a town near you.
