With Arms Raised

With Arms Raised was formed last year by singer songwriter Rob Nguyen, Guitarist Nick Clayton, and Drummer Brock Blasing. The name came when Rob was taking a break outside of his retail job when he overheard a woman yelling at someone on the phone telling the other party she was coming over with guns in hand. “With Arms Raised” in the sense of guns. It made sense musically, had a good ring, and abbreviated WAR. As we all know, raising our arms is also the way we show love in the music world. So why not? The trio came from former bands Letters From the Front, Star 69, Stands For Nothing, and My Friend Betrayal. Needing a bassist and with the thought of putting his guitar down, Rob met guitarist Eric Walker and bassist Kyle Calkins at a house party in suburbia. With its melodic punk rock/metal style sound the band found a powerful response and “killed it” so to speak. The last year brought complications and decisions were made to continue the drive of the band. Losing Three members at once Rob and Nick found the Daigle twins. With Todd on bass and Tony on Drums the duo came with an unforgiving vengeance bringing gasoline to the raise fire. From former bands Letters From the Front, Pridebowl, Misunderstood and King Rat the two completed the picture. With a steady transition, the band became a power driven four piece. With Rob Nguyen on lead vox and once again playing guitar, Nick Clayton singing backup and playing guitar, Todd Daigle singing backup and playing bass, and Tony Daigle with his ill sick drumming we come with a shared vision With our Arms Raised in unity with a powerful message and driving sound that will be heard!
